Isekai
Introducing Isekai, a DJ and producer from Martinique whose eclectic influences pulse through every sound in his mixes.
Starting out on a path to becoming an architect, Isekai had a moment of self-reflection, realizing that his true calling was in music. Today, he spends his time making, mixing, and living music, constantly inspired by the eclectic genres that define his roots.
Growing up on the island, Isekai’s taste was shaped by a mix of genres - Dancehall, Shatta, Bouyon, Bossa Nova, and Baile Funk. This wide-ranging exposure has become his signature as a DJ, where his sets reflect this unique blend of influences. His journey with music isn’t limited to DJing; he’s been playing the piano for over a decade, and he produces as well, mainly crafting trap beats, another genre he’s passionate about. He even holds a music license, underscoring his dedication to mastering his craft.
During his Seré Radio Show Episode, you’ll often hear Bouyon, a genre from his homeland, blended nicely with Baile Funk - a passion he’s deepened with his Brazilian friends over time. Jersey Club also makes an appearance, adding a bouncy, high-energy flavor that will keep you hooked. Isekai’s sets are not about mainstream tunes; he’s here to take you off the beaten path, showcasing hidden gems from genres he’s studied deeply and feels genuinely connected to.
Listening to Isekai talk about his craft, it’s clear how deeply invested he is. He dives into the smallest details of mixing, with an excitement that’s contagious. When I asked him about his goal when he DJing, he told me it was to make people feel the way he does when he hears a track he loves. DJing, for him, is about creating an experience, not just pressing play.
